Is it difficult getting started with skyline api?
I like to be able to select a location on screen or by user entering northing, easting state plane coordinates and be able to draw geometry very much like a cad system. I need the user to be able to set the start location and a direction. Does the api have this ability for someone starting out.
In the end I like to draw and label (text) items after drawing the geomety. also can I draw in 3D vectors and be able to export the results for other know cad formats or xml data set that can be used by autocad or other cad systems.
cad the electems being drawn be dynamic? if an element is drawn from a form that is still active, will a change in the form fire so the drawing elements are re-drawn?
Thanks, Have a great day
John

Hi John, please find below answers to your questions:
1.Is it difficult getting started with skyline api? It's like any software, It depends on your knowledge of the software as a user. It is recommended to know the TerraExplorer Pro features for learning quickly and easily the API. It also depends on your experience with JavaScript and COM development. But don’t worry, the API is very simple to use and efficient. 2. Yes it’s possible, you can write your own interface for that with your own parameters and way of digitizing 3.
4. As you can access to all the properties of the elements, you can do whatever you want with them. So the answer is Yes. I hope this helps. Best regards Christian |
